Memorial Day 2012

Memorial Day 2012, What a difference a year makes.

The conclusion of the war in Iraq is a very personal thing for me. I remember many a Marine by face and name that did not come home. Some were killed during the time I was there, others were killed after my time, and there are many who were killed ,who's names I can't remember, because I was transferred to them just before the war began, and even though I didn't have the  time to get to know them, they were ,and still are my brothers. All of them were honorable Marines who gave themselves willingly in a cause that they believed was right. Rare is the day that I don't think about these men.

Most of us came home, and we came home to a different place then the one we had left. When we left there were tears falling and flags were waving. When we came home there were protests and flags burning. We were called baby killers, and it was insinuated that we purposely targeted civilians, this from the very politicians that had allowed us to go there in the first place, and their many minions. I was a kid during Vietnam, but I remember this very same thing happening to them as they returned home. I also remember when they said it would never happen again. They lied.

If I sound bitter it's because I am. Surely we, as a whole , have been treated better then the Vietnam vets, but it seems to me that this is only true while you are still useful. Once you are no longer fit for the fight you are disregarded and discarded like old tires. Sure you can use the VA but as a whole the caring and concern seems to stop shortly after the spotlight goes off. Of course being the election year all the major contenders will give lip service to veterans but the truth is once they have the votes we will be tossed aside once again.

I am not a politician. I wasn't one then and I am not one now. I can't say that we had any business in Iraq. I never really saw them as any big threat to any one never mind us. But we had a job to do and we did it. All of us did. We heard about the protests but we were to busy trying to stay alive to focus on it. The political aspects of war were a bit lost on us once the bullets started to fly.

I am not looking for sympathy or pity. I am saying this though, most all of us who went through that hell hole lost people that we knew. We were injured mentally, physically and spiritually. We dealt with things that only other war vets could really understand. The world, as we knew it, came to an end the first time we were shot at or someone we knew was killed. It is what it is.

So as you celebrate the first official weekend of the summer, think real hard about what you might do to help a vet. Most of us aren't going to ask for help, but a good number of vets still need help regardless. Our war only started in Iraq it won't end until we truly believe we are home.

In memory of all who have died in service to our country. You are not forgotten. Semper Fi.

Predators In The Sky

Coming very soon to a sky near you.
Look up in the sky! It's a bird, it's a plane, no it's a predator drone!! Just when I thought that they couldn't get more intrusive into our privacy, the FAA ( read federal government) has decided, for the good  and safety of the people , and especially the police, that they are going to allow, and fast track the requirements for, drones to be used ,by the police, over our airspace. Right now they say there are about 1,000 in use but in the next couple of years they expect that to grow to about 30,000.
While I am all for having thugs and criminals being caught and jailed, what is going to stop them from flying over your back yard and observing anything and all things that you do? Is it really any of their business if you are having a bbq and a kegger in your back yard? If you live out and away from everyone and you want to sun bathe do you want them to be able to take pictures of you lying there wearing nothing but your sunglasses? My examples may seem a little silly but the point is we all need to have some privacy somewhere and our homes should be the most private of all. I know that some will say ; I have nothing to hide so why should I care? Why ? Because according to our Constitution you have the right to privacy. You have the right to be secure in your personal property. The police have no right to be spying  on you for any reason with out a warrant and why would you want to allow them the right to do so, even accidentally, without a court order? Even the powers that be, that are pushing for all this to happen quickly, admit that this is going to lead to privacy issues. So lets just nip that in the bud right now, before it becomes a legal constitutional battle. We already  know it violates the bill of rights so lets stop it before it starts and becomes almost impossible to be rid of.
The Irony of it all is that we were told, after 9/11,  that the terrorists hated us because of the freedoms and liberties that we have.Yet since that time the government has been in the process of curtailing those very freedoms  under the guise of keeping us safe. According to this way of thinking, apparently, we can only have freedom and liberty if the police or the government is allowed to spy on us, regulate all that we do and ignore the Constitution. That's not freedom, that is tyranny.
I guess it boils down to this for me, I'd rather have a bad guy get away once in awhile, rather then have the government, in any form, spying on me in my back yard.

Mr. Obama and The Wicked Witch of the West

Today I heard an interview that really put things in this country into perspective, this coming on the heels of hearing a 9 minute recording of a couple of Canadians being hassled at the border for laughing at a question, I was listening to the Tamar Yonah show on Israel National Radio and Tamar was interviewing a man by the name of "Fred" from California who was paid a visit by the Secret Service. His Crime? Re-posting a picture of Mr. Obama looking like the wicked witch of the west with the caption "I'll get you my pretty and your 401k too" and being an outspoken supporter of Israel. I have seen this post on FB before, and many that are by far worse, but this is the first time that I have heard of someone being visited by the Secret Service because of a post on FB. I know that from time to time FB blocks blogs  posts because I have had it happen to me, but never have I had a visit shortly there after.

During the time that Mr. Bush was in office, many times I saw pictures of him dressed up to look like Hitler, with various captions calling him a murderer or a killer or making fun of all his verbal miscues. When peoples patriotism was called because of the pictures or comments, the media and the left side of the aisle were up in arms calling this free and protected speech and I might add, I agree, it falls well with in freedom of speech and expression and there was no threat involved.

So tell me what made the difference in this case? There was no threat. It was a re-post of something that someone else had posted and ,as I have said, there has been far worse posted on line. So what is the threat?
I think it's because the gentleman is an outspoken supporter of Israel. I think it's because he sees the truth that,  Mr. Obama is not a supporter of Israel, no matter what he says publicly, and he has spoken out about it.
"Fred", to his credit, apparently  didn't get to upset about the whole thing and during the interview, especially at the end, he was saying how we all need G-D and that we need to continue to do good to others. I think I'm more bothered by it then he is.

This is one of the many reasons that I can't ever be a liberal. You are way too thin skinned. Some of you will get pissed just by me saying this. Your man gets ridiculed or insulted in someway and the next thing you know the SS is showing up on the door steps of people or they get investigated. You try to tell me that somehow yours is the most compassionate party, the party of the little guy, and yet when it comes down to it, the only time we see any of you is if you are offended in some way or we can cough up $40,000 a plate. Yes Republicans can be as bad getting all offended, and I am not a republican either, but I never heard of SS agents showing up at someones house for simply making fun of the president.

There is so much more that I could write on this subject, about our freedoms and liberties been torn away, but I have done that before to no avail. Perhaps the only thing that will wake you up to harsh reality is when the SS or FBI or DHS or any other government agencies show up on your door step to question you for something stupid.

PC And The War

I haven't spent a whole lot of time writing on the " War on Terrorism." Having spent my time in the particular hell hole of Iraq, I haven't felt that I have a right to really speak to the issue because of my participation. However after looking at some head lines this week I realised that if those of us who served don't speak up against this PC madness no one will. I will say for the record that while I thought taking out the Taliban was a great idea at the time ,I think our approach of trying to first " shock and awe" in Iraq was wasted on the wrong country and now just as wasted is this idea of being politically correct with a people who want nothing more then either our conversion or our destruction. Our government is playing a very stupid and dangerous game where literally the lives of billions are on the line.

Lets compare a bit. Go back to the beginning of "The War On Terror." In the beginning we KNEW who the enemy was, It was a bunch of crazy Islamic extremists led by a guy named Osama Bin Laden. From his mountain caves in Taliban held lands, in Afghanistan, he some how orchestrated the 9/11 attacks. We went after them hard. Blew them up in their strongholds and took prisoners of anyone we didn't kill. Flags were waving everywhere and the recruiters were swamped with people who wanted payback. We were united. We were calling evil by it's name and , even though I didn't care much for President Bush, he made it very clear that wherever they might hide we were going to find them and destroy them.

Today, in comparison, it is not PC to call it the War On Terrorism. It's "overseas contingency". Today it's not PC to call the Islamic or Muslim extremists, Muslims or Islamic, or extremists  because  that might offend the very people that fit that description, and rather then focus on those that have proven, time and time again, their willingness to kill us we instead have the DHS, FBI and  now the CIA making up homegrown terrorists so that they can focus on Americans as the enemy instead. Look at the clowns that they have paraded in front of us, trying to convince us that they are the enemy, most of them don't look like they they could spell master mind never mind being one. Even the New York Times has caught on and noticed the BS and has commented on it.

Now we are being told that we are letting Taliban fighters go under the promise that they won't return to the fight in Afghanistan. Isn't that something akin to asking a rattle snake not to bite you as you stick your hands into it's den?? We are in their territory. Do we really think that they share some utopian ideal that will stop them from fighting again? They kill each other off with impunity and we, who are considered the great Satan, are supposed to believe that they won't try to kill us again?  They want us out of their so called sacred land, so do you really believe that they are going to hold to their word? I wouldn't hold my breath.

The Muslim leadership has made it clear  that they will settle for nothing more then a world wide caliphate with Jerusalem as their capital. Our government is wasting our time and tax dollars planning all these ridiculous plots and then"saving us" from non threats, when the real threats to western society make it very clear , all over the international media, that they are bent on world domination and our destruction. Ignoring the threat doesn't change it. Pretending that they think as we do doesn't change it. Political Correctness doesn't change it.

Either prosecute the war properly or bring everyone home, but quit with the PC, BS already.

That's Just my simple mind.

Obama VS Romney

Welcome to campaign 2012 where the real battle now begin between Mitt Romney and President Obama with all the fan fare and excitement of a dental flossing competition. I mean lets face it they both have great smiles and can speak quite well, but in the end it will come down to a simple question, who's lie do I believe the most? The guy who blames everything on everyone but himself, or the guy who blames everything on the guy currently in, who's policies, as governor, look a lot like some of his opponents current policies? Lest anyone think that I favor either one, I will state for the record that I think they are one and the same. Different hairdo's, perhaps different golf clothes, but still the same. I don't believe for a moment that there is really any difference between the two candidates or their respective parties other then their wording. But here is how I see the campaign going, though it may get tweaked a bit, if some major crisis comes along, and while it may not be quite as boring as a dental flossing competition, it will be filled with the stench of vultures on a rather bloated carcass. Mr. Obama, will likely go out of his way to point out that Romney is not really in touch with the average American. He will likely point out that he has more money then some third world nations. He might point out that Romney likes sports, well at least the owners of the teams, and could likely own a team if he wished. He will likely show Mitts health care plan in MA is basically the same as his own..... then again maybe not, seeings how that's currently sitting in front of the Supreme Court on constitutional grounds. If Mr. Obama is smart, he will point out that not many conservatives actually like Mr. Romney, because he really isn't a conservative, (maybe he shouldn't point that part out and just sit back and watch the vultures eat their own) and he will likely point out that Evangelicals don't care for him much either because he's a Mormon. In short many republicans don't really like him, they are just holding their collective noses and voting for him. He isn't going to be able to defend his own record, because he admits that things haven't gone to well and he is to busy still blaming Bush. Mr. Romney has much ammunition that he can use if he has the intestinal fortitude to use it (sorry about the ammo reference to the easily offended) but I suspect that just like other republicans, who have had their butts handed to them for being to nice, he will do the same. He could go after Obama for all the broken promises as well as the state of the economy. He could point out all the gross violations of the US Constitution as well as the actual costs of Obama Care (he may actually want to stay away from that one as well, MA is kind of broke after all thanks to Romney care) but the problem is, not just with him, but most republicans, he will use soft kid gloves, I am sure they will be calf hide, and he will get beat. He can't run on an actual record either. But the real reason that Romney will get beat, will have less to do with his campaign strategy, or lack there of, and will have more to do with the fact that the media will side with Obama. The media will never ask Obama anything that might put him in any serious jeopardy of losing and will ridicule and silence those that try. So how do you then hold a sitting president responsible for his own mistakes and problems If you won't ask the questions? At what point does he or she finally have to say, yup it's my fault, I screwed up if no one is holding his feet to the fire? At what point does he stop blaming his predecessors and rivals, when the facts are clear that it's his policies and positions that are at fault? The answer to all the above is never. It's not going to happen. As long as people are willing to believe a half truth or a lie nothing will happen or change. The democrats have learned that lesson well. Look at the example of Bill Clinton, he lied about more things in his time in office, and while running for office, yet it was only when he was finally backed into a corner ,with the cold hard facts, presented to him by the media, that he ever acknowledged the truth. In the end he embarrassed himself, his wife and family, his party and the nation. The democrats and the media have learned. If you want your man to stay in office you don't call him to task. There are still un answered questions about Mr. Obama, that just beg for some honest reporting, but it won't happen, at least not by the main stream media. But even if they did t it likely wouldn't matter. First of all the voters themselves would have to actually be paying attention to the issues for or against, which historically has been proven that they don't, and it would require that fair and equal treatment be given to both candidates which we also know won't happen. So I believe that in the end Romney will get beaten by what I consider to be an already rigged election. It's going to come down to who can get away with the greatest amount of voter fraud. If you think I am kidding, then you have been hiding under a rock on a far flung planet. Both parties have been dealing with voter fraud issues in the last few years and these are just the people who have been caught. Just today I watched a news clip out of Florida, that showed that there are hundreds of non US citizens registered to vote in the state, but of course no one knows how any of that could have possibly happened must have been a massive accident. Seems to me that if I have to show an ID for a library card that I should have one to be able to vote. I am not about nationalizing an ID card, but it does seem to me that you should have to prove that you are eligible to vote before you are allowed to. I can't check out a Harry Potter book with out ID but I can vote with out it?? So whats to stop people from voting in 2 or 3 different places if you don't have to prove who you are? Recently I have watched several documentaries where they have shown how easy it is to hack the computerized voting. The results on paper where completely different from the results that were registered in the computer, so knowing that, once you have cast your vote you have to believe that your vote will actually be registered correctly by a machine programmed by flawed humans who might just have a bias towards one of the candidates. Then it goes to a central location where it will be registered by an agency that happens to be a big donor of one of the two candidates, and we then we will finally get our official tally, all without that messy paper trail stuff that can actually be counted to prove it. If you thought "chads" in 2000 was bad this is by far worse. But truthfully we will know the results long before they become official. The media will start predicting the winner about 10 minutes after the voting starts, thus making it almost pointless for many people to go to the polls because the winner has already be determined. It must be really frustrating to someone on the west coast to see the results before they have even had a chance to vote. When the election is finally and mercifully over DC will still be full of thieves and liars that would sell their own mothers to get what they want. They will still be open to the highest bidder in the special interests war and you and I, the common smucks, are going to be the losers in this. If you don't think so then I invite you to take a walk down history lane for about the last 25 years or so,under both parties, and then come back and tell me how much better off we are. If you are serious you won't be able to, because you will see just how bloated and out of touch our government has become, how far our Constitution has been shredded and then just how close to Nazi Germany or the Soviet Union we have become. I hope it will wake you up. Obviously you can ignore the truth, especially coming from a nut job like me, but in the end it won't matter. Too many people like being sheep. To many people like the idea of being ruled by a world type government controlled by the major corporations. As long as we are entertained and fed who cares what rights and privileges are taken. Who cares how much money they spend, thus putting our grandchildren and their grandchildren into perpetual bondage to the state. My "tin foil hat" list could go on, but I suspect that if you have read this far then you probably already know that what I am writing is true. In the end we will get just what we deserve, because everyone will just hold their noses, drink the koolaid, and go for which ever candidate lies to them with the best smile, let the flossing begin!

Fridays Are Scary

I think that Fridays have to be one of the scariest days in the political world, that and just about any major holiday, because this is the time when the various political leaders in our country like to pull fast ones on us. It seems that every time there is a major piece of legislation to be signed or Executive order to be put in place, it happens during those times when we are not paying attention collectively. Who wants to look at news articles when we have the BBQ going or presents to unwrap? No one ,so that's when these little gems are usually sprung on us. Now that's not always true, I do have one from last Friday that seemed to slip quietly under the radar but the next one actually was put into place this week during the supreme courts hearing of arguments over Obama care. These are the fun little tid bits I will share with you today. Yesterday, while you and I were asleep at the wheel the EPA put into place more rules effecting the emissions from Coal powered plants, effectively killing them and ,of course, in the process making sure that the price of electricity goes up. Now I have several problem with this. First it will raise the price of electricity. I have lived out in the Midwest where they use coal powered plants to generate electricity and I can tell you that the cost of living was a lot less expensive there because of it, but I guess we cant have people in this country living cheaply and comfortably. Next is the rather poor timing of all this. Oil prices are needlessly too high and the price of gas is getting to the point of where driving is not worth the cost, but then I guess it's easier to control the people if they cant go anywhere. Natural gas , from what I know is still fairly cheap, but with all the rules that are being attempted to regulate that as well, it wont be long before it will cost you your right arm to have that as well. So what do we , the average sheep, do? We cant use Nuclear power because, so we have been told anyhow, it's to dangerous. Fracking for natural gas, again I lived in fracking country, is so dangerous we must regulate it more and make Natural gas more difficult to obtain. We could drill for our own oil thus stopping our need to be involved in middle east politics and conflicts, but no, we cant do that because it might effect a passing Caribou or Kangaroo mouse, so screw it lets just keep fighting. Live on war machine... So here is my idea, this next winter when we are all freezing to death because the price of staying warm is way to high, we all gather together and just start cutting down the trees. I have no problem with using wood, I have my own wood stove, oh, well I guess we cant do that either because the environmentalist will have a fit and then will come in the Army Corp of engineers to stop us cutting on the so called wet lands and then there is the EPA..... The second little tidbit that managed to get un-noticed by any one was a fascinating article on keeping tabs on you. This is just part of the article. Fox News 3/23/12, The original article Also appeared on AP The U.S. intelligence community will be able to store information about Americans with no ties to terrorism for up to five years under new Obama administration guidelines. Until now, the National Counter terrorism Center had to destroy immediately information about Americans that already was stored in other government databases when there were no clear ties to terrorism..... Doesn't that make you feel warm and fuzzy inside? To think that my government loves me so much that they are going to keep tabs on me for years is just heartwarming. Why the very thought that everything that I say and do will be recorded by whatever means necessary just makes me, with my pitiful memory, rejoice. Next with the government trying to force you to purchase things that you may not wish to buy and our civil liberties being regulated and our Constitution being trampled on, we have President Obama selling us out to the Russians as well. Caught on an open mic, saying that he will be more flexible after the elections, concerning missile defense, and then suggesting that we have a moral obligation to do so? Really? Why? I like the idea of a utopian world where everything is peace and love and everyone works for the betterment of all man kind ,such as in the Star Trek universe, but the reality is is that almost no one else shares our same world view on anything and, I must point out , in the Star Trek universe ,they still had weapons available to deter any one from trying to attack them. So we disarm ourselves and we then become subject to any rogue nation with a bomb. Imagine the United States being held hostage by Jamaica? Why? Because we get rid of all our deterrents and they get one, that's all it would take. But the problem runs deeper then that. Mr. Obama spoke when he didn't think that the Mic was on and in a way he tipped his hand. He has made it clear that when he has nothing to lose anymore that he is going to do as he wishes. He has already done plenty of that in the last 3 plus years, I can't imagine what he will do once he is unleashed. I suppose there are some of you who think that the idea of a socialized nation is a good thing, and so you rejoice at all these wondrous changes, let me just say a few words on that. Nazi Germany, Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, Eastern Europe, North Korea, Cuba, China. No matter how you try to color it, no matter how you try to "spread the wealth" and make everything equal, there is always a ruling class and they tend to kill off all dissent and repress their people. History bears this out. So today is Friday and I have to say I wonder what fun things will go on in the political world..stay tuned I'll try to keep you posted....

End of Simple Minded

I entered into the idea of "Simple Minded" to provide ,what I saw, as very simple solutions for a complicated world. It seemed to me that the simple thoughts of following the Constitution and common sense was the best way to do things.

Apparently I am wrong.

It would seem that sex is the only thing that interests people. Of all the posts I have written, "Sexual News" got the most reads and it actually had very little to do with sex, but it finally showed me the truth of things, which is simply this ; we ,as a nation, care more about sex and entertainment then we do about what is happening ,Constitutionally speaking, to our country. If we did, think more of the Constitutional welfare of our country, we would have a much smaller government and our constant state of warfare and welfare would be a thing of the past because the government would not be getting involved in everything that is going on in the world or in our homes and business. Alas this is not to be.

We are a people who do not deserve our Constitution if we did we would be holding our politicians accountable for subverting it.

We have a government that does not have the integrity or honor to stand amongst the great founders of this nation, for if they did they would uphold that Constitution that our forefathers died for, rather then destroy it.

In short, it would seem that most of you would rather prefer the sheepdom of so called government intervention in every aspect of your life, as long as you can be gainfully entertained, rather then live your lives free from tyranny. So be it.

So simply put, "Simple Minded" is pointless to write anymore. If the obvious events happening around us can not bring up the wrath of the American people against those who would destroy us and subvert us to the whims of the UN, or the NWO or whomever, then my humble writings, with such a small amount of readers, will not do it either.

So thank you to the few that have read this blog, sorry that it won't keep going. We are repeating history ,going all the way back to the tower of Babylon, and most of the sheep are content and asleep in their cages not realizing or even caring that the wolf has the keys.
